Special Education Teacher in Putney, VT

Three Special Education Teachers are needed onsite for the 2026-2027 academic year, beginning August 19, 2026 and ending June 14, 2027. What We’re Looking For:

• Current and valid Vermont Professional Teaching License
• Endorsement in Special Educator, Special Education Consulting Teacher, or Intensive Special Education Teacher
• Availability for a full-time role (35 hours weekly)
• Flexibility, creativity, and a commitment to student growth
• Fingerprinting clearance (transferable from recent school assignments)
• Previous experience working with executive function needs, Autism, severe behaviors, learning disabilities, or high-functioning Autism spectrum is highly valued

Role Details:

• Two teachers will support a new pilot program at the high school level, focusing on students with executive function needs, Autism, and more severe behaviors. The role involves preparing students for real-world employment and life skills, with some students participating in tech center programs.
• One teacher will join a collaborative elementary team, working with students with learning disabilities in reading, writing, math, and high-functioning Autism. Professional PT/OT support supplements classroom instruction.
• All positions are full-time (35 hours/week) and require a spirit of innovation and adaptability in fast-paced, supportive environments.
