Position Summary

\n

We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and skilled Full-Time Dental Assistant to join our growing dental practice. The ideal candidate is patient-focused, organized, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment. The Dental Assistant will provide chairside support to dentists, ensure patient comfort, maintain infection control standards, and assist with the daily operations of the practice.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for patient procedures.
  • \n
  • Assist the dentist during a variety of dental procedures, including restorative, crown and bridge, extractions, root canals, and other general dentistry procedures.
  • \n
  • Take and process dental radiographs in accordance with Massachusetts regulations.
  • \n
  • Sterilize instruments and maintain infection control protocols in compliance with OSHA, CDC, and Massachusetts Department of Public Health guidelines.
  • \n
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene, postoperative care, and treatment recommendations.
  • \n
  • Maintain accurate patient records and document treatment provided.
  • \n
  • Assist with impressions, temporary crowns, digital scanning, and laboratory cases.
  • \n
  • Ensure operatories are cleaned, stocked, and prepared throughout the day.
  • \n
  • Monitor inventory and order dental supplies as needed.
  • \n
  • Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • \n
  • Support front office operations as needed, including scheduling appointments and verifying patient information.
  • \n
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the practice.
  • \n

Required Qualifications

    \n
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • \n
  • Current Massachusetts Dental Assistant License, if required by state regulations.
  • \n
  • Current CPR/BLS certification.
  • \n
  • Certification to expose dental radiographs in Massachusetts.
  • \n
  • Minimum of one year of dental assisting experience preferred (new graduates may be considered).
  • \n
  • Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and infection control standards.
  • \n
  • Proficiency with electronic dental records and practice management software.
  • \n
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • \n
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • \n
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a team environment.
  • \n

Preferred Qualifications

    \n
  • Experience with digital radiography and intraoral scanners.
  • \n
  • Experience with Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Open Dental, or similar dental software.
  • \n
  • Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) certification, if applicable.
  • \n
  • Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, sit, bend, and move throughout the workday.

  • Manual dexterity sufficient to assist during dental procedures.
  • \n
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.

  • Ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) for extended periods.
