This opportunity seeks a skilled Pharmacy Director to lead pharmacy operations in an acute care setting. The role requires strong inpatient pharmacy leadership, regulatory expertise, and effective team oversight to maintain high-quality pharmaceutical services. The position is contract-based, with training beginning April 1, followed by taking on full Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) duties starting April 6, continuing coverage until a permanent internal hire is made.

Location: Belle Glade, FL (Clewiston area)

Schedule/Hours:

  • Monday to Friday
  • 8:00 AM to 4:30/5:00 PM
  • No weekend coverage required

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead pharmacy operations and serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Prepare for The Joint Commission (TJC) accreditation activities and maintain regulatory readiness
  • Oversee sterile compounding processes primarily managed by pharmacy technicians
  • Manage pharmacy team comprising 3 technicians, 1 full-time pharmacist, and 4 PRN pharmacists
  • Utilize CPSI order entry system and Omnicell automation; training available for candidates new to these systems
  • Collaborate on Clinical Pharmacy Agreements and ensure high standards in acute care areas, including ICU, outpatient infusion, surgery, and medical-surgical units

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active Florida Pharmacist and Consultant licensure required
  • Minimum 3 years of inpatient pharmacy management experience
  • Thorough knowledge of intravenous (IV) admixtures and sterile compounding
  • Familiarity with TJC standards and pharmacy regulatory compliance
  • Experience with CPSI and Omnicell preferred but not mandatory

  • The facility is currently within the TJC survey window and has not undergone an annual Board of Pharmacy inspection
