Step into a fulfilling contract position as a Special Education Teacher in a dedicated, supportive environment focused on behavioral and emotional growth. This opportunity centers on our BEST classroom—Behavioral and Emotional Supported Teaching—designed for middle school students (grades 6-8) in a self-contained setting. You’ll work Monday through Friday, from 7:50 am to 3:10 pm, with a manageable caseload of 9-10 students who greatly benefit from personalized support and guidance.

Your ability to create structure, adapt instruction, and foster strong relationships will be vital to helping each student reach their fullest potential. Success in this role calls for understanding, patience, and a passion for helping students navigate both academic and social-emotional development.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education Teacher certification
  • Experience working in special education, especially with behaviorally and emotionally supported programs, is highly valued
  • Proficiency in designing and implementing IEPs
  • Strong communication skills for collaborating with staff, families, and students
  • Organizational ability to track student progress and manage a self-contained classroom

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver individualized instruction tailored to students’ IEPs
  • Foster a supportive, structured classroom atmosphere that encourages positive behavioral and emotional growth
  • Work closely with related service providers and participate in team meetings
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and goals
  • Maintain accurate documentation and assessments for each student
  • Lead a consistent daily routine for students in your classroom
