Job Description

Embrace the opportunity to foster growth for children and adolescents as a contracted Special Education Teacher for the full academic year. Multiple rewarding roles are available, including Elementary Resource, Junior High Resource, and Junior High Support Center positions (37.5 hours/week), as well as a 0.8 FTE Elementary Resource Teacher position (30 hours/week). All assignments are onsite and follow the school calendar, offering you the consistency of a school-year schedule.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification for Washington State (or eligibility to obtain)
- Experience working with students requiring resource support or within support center environments
- Ability to collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and support staff
- Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills
- Aptitude for adapting instructional strategies to meet individual student goals
- Dedication to building positive, supportive relationships with students and families
- Previous experience in elementary and/or junior high settings preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, tailored instruction within resource or support classrooms, adhering to IEP goals
- Design and implement individualized educational plans in accordance with district and state guidelines
- Collect and assess student data to monitor progress, adjusting plans as needed
- Foster an inclusive, encouraging classroom climate to maximize student participation and success
- Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and family members to support each student’s development
- Participate in IEP meetings and professional development throughout the school year
