Special Education Teacher - Puyallup, WA

Multiple rewarding roles are available, including Elementary Resource, Junior High Resource, and Junior High Support Center positions (37.5 hours/week), as well as a 0.8 FTE Elementary Resource Teacher position (30 hours/week). All assignments are onsite and follow the school calendar, offering you the consistency of a school-year schedule.

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification for Washington State (or eligibility to obtain)
• Experience working with students requiring resource support or within support center environments
• Ability to collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and support staff
• Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills
• Aptitude for adapting instructional strategies to meet individual student goals
• Dedication to building positive, supportive relationships with students and families
• Previous experience in elementary and/or junior high settings preferred

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging, tailored instruction within resource or support classrooms, adhering to IEP goals
• Design and implement individualized educational plans in accordance with district and state guidelines
• Collect and assess student data to monitor progress, adjusting plans as needed
• Foster an inclusive, encouraging classroom climate to maximize student participation and success
• Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and family members to support each student’s development
• Participate in IEP meetings and professional development throughout the school year
