Make a positive difference in the lives of high school students as a Special Education Teacher in a supportive and professional educational environment. This contract opportunity is full-time, beginning September 8, 2026—with the potential to attend valuable professional development sessions if you join prior to August 27. You’ll be part of a specialized resource room environment, working closely with a caseload of approximately 14–20 students in either the 9th grade or the 10th–12th grade group.

In this role, you will:

  • Collaborate with colleagues to deliver targeted academic interventions
  • Provide individualized social-emotional support to students with varied learning needs
  • Implement and monitor behavior intervention strategies as needed
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere, promoting student growth and self-confidence
  • Regularly communicate with parents/caregivers and interdisciplinary team members about student progress
  • Ensure compliance with all Individualized Education Program (IEP) requirements and documentation

Ideal candidates possess:

  • Previous experience working as a Special Education Teacher, preferably at the high school level
  • Michigan Special Education Certification, or eligibility to obtain it
  • Strong knowledge of evidence-based instructional and behavioral strategies
  • Skill in adapting instruction to meet diverse student needs
