Job Description
Insight Global is looking for an Entry-Level Drilling / Exploration Technician supports geotechnical and environmental drilling operations while learning the skills needed for a long-term career in exploration services. This position works alongside experienced drilling professionals to assist with soil and rock sampling, groundwater monitoring well installation, equipment operation, and field investigations. The role offers year-round employment, regional travel opportunities, and hands-on technical training in a safety-focused environment. Pay range for entry level: $24/hr to $25/hr. Pay range for experienced Drillers is $30/hr to 50/hr.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Assist the Lead Driller with daily drilling and exploration activities at client project sites.
Support soil, rock, and groundwater sampling operations for geotechnical and environmental investigations.
Learn to operate and maintain drilling equipment, tooling, augers, and related machinery.
Help install groundwater monitoring wells and collect field data.
Drive medium-duty trucks and transport equipment to and from job sites.
Perform equipment inspections, maintenance, and job site setup activities.
Read and interpret basic civil, construction, and geotechnical plans.
Participate in pre-task planning and adhere to all company safety procedures.
Maintain accurate field notes and assist with quality control processes.
Travel regionally and occasionally nationwide to support project needs, with per diem provided.
