Job Overview

Compensation starts at $31.50 per hour, with our drivers earning between $70,000 and $75,000 annually, including overtime. We offer progressive pay increases every six months for the first two years, followed by annual raises. Overtime is compensated for hours worked beyond 40 in a week.

Work Schedule

This position includes one overnight shift per week. We prioritize our drivers' comfort by providing hotel accommodations for overnight stays, eliminating the need for sleeper cabs, along with a per diem. Once fully onboarded, drivers may have the opportunity for up to two overnight shifts per week, depending on business requirements. Importantly, there are no weekend shifts!

Position Purpose

As a Food and Food Service Delivery Driver, you play a crucial role in the food supply chain. Our drivers ensure that products reach customers on time and in excellent condition, serving as the face of our organization and building lasting relationships with clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct all necessary safety checks, including pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and trailer, ensuring compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
  • Adhere to all DOT regulations and company driving policies.
  • Promptly report any safety hazards and inspect trailers for properly loaded and secured freight.
  • Perform item counts and verify customer invoices for loaded products, ensuring all paperwork is completed accurately.
  • Transport the tractor to the loading dock and attach preloaded trailers as required.
  • Follow predetermined delivery routes to deliver customer orders, unloading products into designated storage areas.
  • Conduct damage control checks on items, scan products, and communicate with supervisors regarding order removals as per company policy.
  • Verify deliveries with customers and obtain necessary signatures, collecting payments when required.
  • Load customer returns onto the trailer and secure trailer doors, ensuring all equipment is locked and secured.
  • Unload damaged goods and returns, completing necessary paperwork.
  • Maintain daily records of service hours in compliance with Federal DOT, state, and company regulations.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties in the tractor and loading dock area, ensuring cleanliness and organization.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork at the end of each shift and perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • At least 6 months of commercial driving experience.
  • Valid CDL-A license and must be at least 21 years old.
  • Meet all state licensing and certification requirements, where applicable.
  • Maintain a clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past three years.
  • Pass a post-offer drug test and criminal background check.
  • Successfully complete a road test.
  • Possess or be able to obtain a valid DOT Health Card.
  • Capable of lifting and utilizing equipment to move and stack product cases weighing between 10-35 pounds and up to 60-90 pounds, depending on the location.
