The University of Virginia (UVA) Community Health Anesthesiology Department is seeking an American Board of Anesthesiology certified or certification-eligible candidate to join our growing team in beautiful Culpeper, Virginia. Successful candidate will make a significant impact on our expanding program.

Ideal candidate:

  • Call taking anesthesiologist who has experience with labor and delivery as well as basic general surgery and spine cases
  • \n
  • Experience or interest in a rural practice and enjoys living in a smaller town
  • \n
  • Subspecialty training is a bonus, but not required
  • \n

Responsibilities:

    \n
  • Administer anesthesia and anesthesia-related care
  • \n
  • Basic peripheral nerve blocks
  • \n
  • Participates in pre-anesthetic preparation and evaluation
  • \n
  • Medical supervision of Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs)
  • \n
  • Formulates a patient-specific plan for anesthesia care
  • \n
  • Implements monitors and adjusts patients physiologic condition as appropriate for type of anesthesia and specific patients needs
  • \n
  • Transfers the responsibility for care of the patient to other qualified providers post-operatively to assure continuity of care and patient safety
  • \n
  • Supports operating room procedures
  • \n
  • Participates in additional areas of responsibility
  • \n
  • Assumes responsibility for professional development of self and contributes to and assists with the professional development of others
  • \n
  • Call is taken mostly from home "pager call"
  • \n

The base compensation range for this role is $469,981 - $596,311 for a 1.0 clinical FTE status. Individual compensation will be determined by fair market value and the selected candidate's qualifications, clinical experience, specialty training, credentials, and/or education. Please note that the pay range does not include any applicable incentive compensation programs, such as productivity, quality, non-productivity, or other incentives that may be available for eligible positions.
