Step into an impactful role supporting students ages 3–21 by providing consistent, compassionate occupational therapy services across the Houston area’s southwest side. This full-time contract position is perfect for a licensed Occupational Therapist eager to engage in meaningful work within a school-based setting. Covering 6–7 schools within a designated zone to limit commute times, you’ll have the district office as a home base and the ability to focus on treatment and consult-only caseloads.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active TX Occupational Therapist license required
  • Must successfully complete state fingerprinting and district background check
  • Experience in school or pediatric settings strongly preferred; highly experienced COTAs with a robust background are welcome to apply
  • Comfortable independently managing caseloads of various ages and needs
  • Familiarity with SHARES or Onward school health software and Excel documentation is highly valued
  • Commitment to full-time, on-site work (37.5 hours/week), with typical shifts from 8:00–4:00 or 7:30–3:30

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of approximately 70 students, with 30–40 receiving direct services and others on a consult-only basis
  • Conduct evaluations, participate in ARD meetings, and implement IEPs
  • Maintain thorough documentation in digital platforms and Excel logs
  • Collaborate with school staff, families, and district therapy leadership to deliver the best possible student outcomes
  • Serve as the lead OT, without COTA support
