Qualifications:

  • Valid New York State certification as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
  • Previous experience working with students across the K-12 range
  • Skilled in developing and implementing IEPs for DHH students
  • Proficiency using assistive technology and accommodations for hearing-impaired learners
  • Strong communication and collaborative skills with staff, students, and families
  • Comfortable with in-person, virtual, and hybrid instructional settings

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver differentiated instruction to meet varying student needs
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to promote inclusion and success
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and strategies for support
  • Utilize technology to support remote and blended learning models as needed
  • Foster an inclusive, supportive, and accessible learning environment
