Special Education Teacher | Scranton, South Carolina

We are seeking dedicated professionals to fill two immediate contract openings—one serving grades 6-12 in a self-contained / PRTF classroom (8-10 students, in-person only), and another supporting elementary students (grades 3-5, 12-15 students) in a resource setting. These positions offer full-time hours (37.5 per week) and the chance to work closely with a collaborative educational team.

Desired experience and qualifications:

• Current state Special Education Teacher certification
• Experience working with students in special education settings
• Strong classroom management and individualized instruction skills
• Ability to develop and implement IEPs tailored to student needs
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
• Flexibility and adaptability to meet diverse classroom needs

Key responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction to students based on IEPs
• Develop lesson plans that accommodate different learning abilities and styles
• Collaborate with general education staff, parents, and support services as needed
• Maintain accurate student records and progress documentation
• Encourage a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
• Participate in meetings, parent conferences, and school activities
