Job Description
Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting students as a skilled Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in a vibrant secondary school environment. This full-time contract position starts August 11, 2026, and runs through May 26, 2027, providing you with a steady schedule and the chance to make meaningful connections throughout the academic year. You’ll primarily work at one campus in the Sugar Land area, with only occasional assignments at a second site when needed.
Ideal candidates possess:
- A valid SLPA professional license
- Experience working in K-12 or adolescent (secondary) populations within schools
- Ability to manage a moderate caseload (average around 80 students)
- Knowledge of Texas state credentialing and willingness to complete fingerprinting/background checks
- Flexibility to support additional campuses if assigned
- Strong communication and organization skills to collaborate with teachers, staff, and families
Daily responsibilities include:
- Implementing treatment plans developed by supervising SLPs
- Providing direct therapy and support to students with communication needs
- Documenting progress and maintaining thorough records for each student
- Participating in team meetings and IEP discussions as needed
- Adjusting support strategies to best meet each student’s unique goals
Whether full-time (37.5 hours/week) or part-time (30+ hours), you’ll enjoy a dynamic role focused on student growth. The district considers your home location in school site assignment, keeping daily commutes in mind.
