JOB SUMMARY
\nThe Product Marketing & Technical Business Development Director is responsible for driving revenue growth,
\nmarket expansion, and customer adoption across Gel-Pak's product portfolio. This position provides strategic
\nleadership for technical marketing and business development activities, combining market insight with direct
\nengagement with customers, distributors, and design engineers.
\nThe role develops and executes go-to-market strategies, supports design-win initiatives, and translates
\ncustomer and market requirements into product, application, and marketing strategies that accelerate
\ngrowth. Working closely with engineering, sales, and operations, the Director identifies emerging market
\nopportunities, influences product development priorities, and delivers measurable business results through
\nincreased market penetration, customer acquisition, and revenue growth.
\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
\nEssential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
\n• Partner with the Vice President of Sales and Marketing to develop the annual product line budget and
\nproduct-level forecasts. Establish and achieve annual design-win expansion targets, including new qualified
\ndesigns, sample-to-production conversion rates, and related forecasted revenue. Own annual new
\nrevenue targets and track performance against quarterly and fiscal year goals.
\n• Own positioning, messaging, and go-to-market plans for new product launches, ensuring alignment with
\ntarget markets such as semiconductors, MEMS, optics, and medical device manufacturers. Provide
\nengineering with all technical details and application notes needed for new product launch and sampling.
\n• Build and maintain competitive intelligence on packaging alternatives to sharpen Gel-Pak's value
\nproposition and differentiate against substitute solutions.
\n• Engage directly with sales and their key customer design engineers, procurement teams, and OEM
\ncustomers to understand technical packaging requirements and qualify new design-win opportunities.
\n• Partner with R&D, Quality, and Operations to prioritize the new product roadmap based on market
\ndemand signals and customer feedback from field engagement.
\n• Build financial models and business cases for new product introductions, including pricing strategy, margin
\ntargets, and break-even timelines.
\n• Report new product revenue contribution to overall company growth in quarterly business reviews with
\nexecutive leadership on performance plan identifying successes and gaps in performance. Maintain
\nquarterly fiscal performance updates covering design-win pipeline value, new product revenue
\nattainment, and market share gains for NPI.
\n• Work in partnership with engineering to train Gel Pak's sales team and distributor sales teams on technical
\nproduct positioning and application use cases to improve lead qualification and close rates.
\n• Performs other duties or responsibilities assigned over the course of employment.

\nAccountable for annual new product introduction (NPI) and product family revenue budgets, including
\nrevenue targets and forecasting.
\nESSENTIAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
\n• Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Business, or a related technical field, or an
\nequivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience.
\n• Typically requires 8+ years of progressive experience in marketing, technical sales, or business
\ndevelopment within semiconductor packaging, electronic component handling, or specialty materials
\nindustries, or equivalent relevant experience.
\n• Proven success in developing and launching new products, including building business cases, pricing
\nmodels, and go-to-market strategies that delivered measurable revenue growth.
\n• Experience managing distributor and channel partner relationships to expand market reach and drive sellthrough.
\n• History of leading cross-functional teams (engineering, sales, operations) without direct authority to
\nachieve fiscal targets
\n• Ability to engage credibly with design engineers and technical procurement teams to translate application
\nrequirements into product and marketing strategy.
\n• Demonstrates initiative, sound judgment, and the ability to operate effectively in a collaborative, lean
\nteam environment.
\n• Ability to travel domestically and internationally, typically 15-30%, for customer visits, trade shows, and
\ndistributor engagement, with or without reasonable accommodation.
\n• Prior experience specifically in device handling, packaging, or carrier tray solutions for semiconductors,
\noptics, or MEMS applications.
\n• Ability to work remotely in a hybrid/remote environment.
