IV Sterile Compounding Staff Pharmacist - Alachua, FL
Job Description
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A pharmacy role is available that specializes in sterile compounding within a clinical setting supporting infusion pharmacy patients. This position emphasizes a blend of sterile compounding expertise, clinical pharmacy services, regulatory compliance, and leadership responsibilities in a dynamic environment.
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM
This assignment offers a 13+ week contract to hire opportunity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret, verify, and process physician medication orders accurately.
- Perform and oversee sterile compounding processes in strict adherence to USP standards.
- Conduct final verification of compounded sterile preparations to ensure safety and efficacy.
- Review medication profiles for allergies, interactions, dosing accuracy, and compatibility.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.
- Supervise and mentor pharmacy technicians and support staff to maintain high performance.
- Maintain cleanroom conditions, aseptic technique, and carry out environmental monitoring.
- Participate in quality assurance programs, medication safety initiatives, audits, and continuous improvement projects.
- Manage compounding, batch records, quality, and regulatory documentation meticulously.
- Assist with inventory control, including management of controlled substances and overall pharmacy operations.
- Support the development and implementation of pharmacy policies, procedures, and staff training.
- Engage actively in staff meetings and professional development conferences.
Qualifications:
- Active Florida Pharmacist license in good standing.
- At least one year of experience with hazardous and non-hazardous sterile compounding following USP standards, DEA, OSHA, and Board of Pharmacy regulations.
- Strong communication skills combined with proven leadership abilities.
