\n\nIntroducing an exciting leadership and teaching opportunity for a BC/BE Internal Medicine physician in an academic medical center located in Hartford, CT, one of the most desirable regions in the country to live and with one of the most renowned teaching hospitals in the region.
\n\nLeadership and Faculty Position Details:
\n\n
Role: Perioperative Clinic Director and Outpatient Academic Practice with UCONN Internal Medicine Residents
\nLocation: Hartford, CT
\nSetting: 25%, Periop Clinic Director - Hartford Region, 75% Academic Clinic-based, outpatient internal medicine working with our residents in the community health clinic
\nSchedule: Full-time (10 hours per week leadership, 30 hours per week faculty practice)
\nPhone Call Only: back-up resident coverage only
\nOther compensation: Guaranteed base salary, Loan repayment support, Sign-on bonus, Relocation stipend
\n\nPerioperative Clinic Director, Hartford Region Scope (25%):
\nLead Perioperative Medicine initiatives at Hartford Hospital (including BJI)
\nSupervision of advanced practitioners in the Hartford Hospital PAT and Bone and Joint Institute (BJI) PREPARE center
\nAttend monthly meetings and review with appropriate surgical Service Lines
\nParticipate in Perioperative and other appropriate committees
\nProvide perioperative education oversight and quality improvement for peers
\nSupervise proactive risk reduction for high-risk patients before elective surgeries
\nCollaborate with the Hospital Medicine consult team
\nProvide professional medical services in perioperative medicine and primary care in Hartford region including preoperative evaluation and consultations, selectively ordering and interpreting appropriate diagnostic testing, imaging, and EKGs
\n\nFaculty Practice Scope: (75%):
\nOutpatient internal medicine working with our residents in the community health clinic
\nOpportunity to integrate education of residents and quality improvement initiatives into clinical shifts
\nProfessional development in academics, research or advanced leadership in a thriving hospital system
