Qualifications & Experience:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Previous experience interpreting in educational settings preferred
• Ability to facilitate clear communication between students, teachers, and staff
• Knowledge of Deaf culture and sensitivity to the needs of Deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals
• Relevant certification or licensure for sign language interpreting (state credentials, EIPA, or RID certification a plus)
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

Responsibilities:

• Provide real-time ASL interpretation for students in classroom and school activities
• Support teachers by translating lessons and instructions
• Assist with parent-teacher conferences and school meetings as needed
• Adapt to a variety of academic subjects and age groups, from elementary to high school
• Collaborate with educational teams to promote accessible learning environments
• Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries in line with school and state guidelines
