Pharmacist – Retail Pharmacy – Altoona, PA (Direct Hire)

A retail pharmacy in Altoona, PA is seeking a full-time Pharmacist to join their team under a direct hire arrangement. This role involves working variable day and afternoon shifts with a bi-weekly schedule of approximately 74 hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster a collaborative relationship with the store operations team, driving associate engagement and effectively communicating departmental and company strategies to pharmacy staff.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance for all prescriptions by conducting thorough Drug Utilization Reviews and Final Quality Assurance, adhering to state and federal pharmacy regulations.
  • Manage pharmacy operations to build a profitable business, promoting script growth through clinical programs such as immunizations and Medication Therapy Management (MTM) when available.
  • Collaborate with the District Manager and pharmacy staff to manage inventories, track weekly sales, and order pharmaceutical stock to meet customer demand.
  • Align department performance objectives with key measurable metrics to optimize effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing medical inquiries and offering healthcare counseling.
  • Supervise pharmacists, pharmacy associates, and support staff, providing training, coaching, and managing performance.
  • Maintain pharmacy security and resolve customer issues to build trust and loyalty.
  • Communicate with healthcare providers and utilize reference materials to clarify prescriptions and resolve issues.
  • Oversee pharmacy department cleanliness and organization.
  • Prioritize and complete pharmacy tasks such as cycle counts, inventory management, and will-call coordination timely.
  • Support ongoing staff training and development to improve performance and reduce turnover.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Pharmacy or PharmD degree
  • Current Pennsylvania Pharmacist License
  • Current Pennsylvania Immunization License
  • Strong leadership and customer service skills
