Key Qualifications:
- Valid and active Occupational Therapy license in Texas
- State fingerprinting and background check clearance (must be completed before start)
- Significant experience working in school-based or pediatric settings (highly qualified COTAs with several years’ experience encouraged to apply)
- Proficiency in using school documentation systems such as SHARES, Onward, and Excel for managing IEP logs
- Reliable transportation to commute between 6-7 assigned schools within a designated geographic zone
- Must not be a former employee of the district; candidates terminated from any school district are ineligible
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage an assigned caseload (approximately 70 students, with direct services provided to 30-40 on a rotating schedule)
- Conduct evaluations and participate in ARD meetings
- Deliver consultative and direct therapy services, adhering to individualized education plans
- Maintain accurate documentation and records as mandated by district procedure
- Collaborate with other education professionals and support staff within the assigned zone
