Technologist Senior, MRI
Job Description
The Senior MRI Technologist is responsible for executing intricate MRI procedures, prioritizing patient safety, mentoring team members, and assisting with operational tasks while upholding exceptional imaging standards and departmental regulations. This role also involves participation in training, equipment oversight, and leadership responsibilities, necessitating relevant certification, experience, and robust technical and interpersonal abilities.
Primary Duties- Conduct advanced MRI procedures for both scheduled and urgent cases, ensuring patient safety and compliance with quality control and data integrity protocols.
- Educate and guide staff, fellows, residents, and students in MRI methodologies and practices to uphold high professional standards.
- Oversee equipment management and operations, including troubleshooting issues, assisting with inventory, engaging in quality assurance initiatives, and facilitating daily departmental activities.
- Provide leadership assistance by stepping in for supervisors as necessary, managing clinical operations, and advocating for new equipment or process enhancements.
- Foster positive patient and family interactions by creating a welcoming atmosphere, clearly explaining procedures, and responding compassionately to individual patient needs.
- Associate’s Degree in Allied Health is required; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as an MRI Technologist.
- Preferred: Current MA Radiologic Technologist license for MRI.
- MRI certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Must successfully achieve and maintain ARRT certification.
- BLS certification is required.
