General Summary:
\nThe APP, under the supervision of Physicians is responsible for:
\n- \n
- The APP is responsible for providing care for NICU and newborn patients within the scope of licensure and within the supervising physician's scope of practice. \n
- Evaluate patients, develop treatment plans, order and interpret labs, x-rays and other diagnostic studies per specialty guidelines and under the guidance of the Neonatologist \n
- Perform procedures such as intubation, lumbar puncture, umbilical lines, PICC lines and chest tube placement, and circumcisions. \n
- Communicate effectively with parents, other specialists and among NICU team members. \n
- Providing education and support to patients families \n
- Dispensing medications under collaborative agreement with a supervising physician \n
Schedule Details:
\n- \n
- 24 hour shifts, restricted/unrestricted \n
- Call required 14 days per month \n
- Campus: AdventHealth Riverview \n
Required Education and Experience:
\n- \n
- Masters degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant studies with Neonatal Certification (required) \n
- 1-2 years of experience in the NICU as an RN (highly preferred) \n
- 1-2 years of experience in the NICU as a Neonatal APRN or Neonatal PA-C \n
Required Licensure and Certification:
\n- \n
- Must hold a valid Florida APRN License with Neonatal certification \n
- Certification through ANCC, or other nationally recognized certifying body \n
- BLS, ACLS and PALS certification \n
