Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Director of Pharmacy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Lead pharmacy operations in a dynamic inpatient environment at a medical center located in Pahokee, FL. This contract position as Director of Pharmacy plus Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) requires strong leadership and management skills to oversee pharmacy services and support regulatory compliance within an acute care setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide pharmacy leadership, including oversight of staff and daily operations
  • Prepare and support regulatory inspections and Joint Commission (TJC) compliance activities
  • Manage pharmacy services in acute care ICU, outpatient infusion, surgery, and med-surg areas
  • Oversee sterile compounding processes, primarily performed by technicians
  • Collaborate with medical staff under a Collaborative Pharmacy Agreement (CPA) via CPS order entry system
  • Ensure compliance with state pharmacy regulations and standards
  • Support and mentor pharmacy technicians and pharmacists during limited weekday staffing hours

Qualifications:

  • Florida Pharmacist and Consultant licensure required
  • Minimum of 3 years of pharmacy management experience in an inpatient setting
  • Knowledge of TJC standards and sterile compounding protocols
  • Experience with CPS order entry system and Omnicell automation preferred; training available
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30/5:00 PM
  • No weekend coverage required

Staff and Facility:

  • Team includes 3 pharmacy technicians, 1 full-time pharmacist, and 4 PRN pharmacists
  • Onsite training and support provided
  • Facility recently entered TJC accreditation window and has maintained compliance with Board of Pharmacy inspections

This contract assignment begins with training on April 1st, transitioning to PIC duties starting April 6th, and continuing until an internal hire is made.
