\nFulltime position\n
\n
\nSuccessful candidate must have solid experience & advanced knowledge of:\n
\nFluency in verbal, reading and written bilingual communication skills - Spanish & English\n
\nBasic computer and data entry skills\n
\nKnowledge of cultural barriers to medical care and ability to diminish barriers on the patients' and SCHC's behalf\n
\nKnowledge of medical terminology in Spanish and in English\n
\nHigh school diploma or GED\n
\nPrevious experience interpreting preferred\n
\nSuccessful candidate must be able to perform primary functions of position:\n
\nProvide translation services and support the non-English speaking patients and their families during their clinical visit\n
\nWorks directly with medical staff to ensure accurate communication and understanding between patient and staff\n
\nAssists patients in completing all necessary intake forms at initial visit, including but not limited to, demographic and medical history, and financial verification\n
\nAssists social service worker and patient in completing the social service intake process\n
\nTravel to local agencies or hospitals to provide interpreting services as needed\n
\nThese functions are not all inclusive\n
