Physician Assistant, PA-C or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, APRN (RNFA)

\n

Full-time Outpatient and Inpatient opportunity located at AdventHealth Kissimmee

\n

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

\n

The PA-C or APRN, under the supervision of the Physician(s) who acts as the collaborative practitioner(s), is responsible for:

\n

Performing health assessments including patient history and physical examination in the hospital setting Primarily in AdventHealth Orlando Campus.

\n

Performs diagnostic procedures according to privileges and maintains log.

\n

Conditions treated include but are not limited to: Anal Abscess/Fistula, Anal Cancer, Colon and Rectal Cancer, Lower GI bleeding, Crohn's Disease, Ulcerative Colitis, Diverticular Disease, Ostomy and Intestinal fistula care.

\n

Orders, interprets, and incorporates diagnostic tests, studies and lab values into the plan of care; evaluates effectiveness.

\n

Formulates appropriate diagnosis based on history, physical examination, and clinical findings.

\n

Plans and provides care within the framework of policies, unit guidelines and privileges.

\n

Orders pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies according to privileges.

\n

Provides ongoing patient/family and staff education.

\n

Collaborates with all members of the healthcare team including family.

\n

Documents in a timely and thorough manner.

\n

Communicates report in an efficient and complete manner.

\n

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, staff, and patients.

\n

Strong communication skills

\n

Strong medical decision-making skills

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

\n

Masters degree in Nursing (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) Studies

\n

Registered Nurse First Assist (RNFA) required

\n

Spanish speaking (preferred)

\n

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, REGISTRATION:

\n

Current, valid Florida APRN license

\n

Current, valid DEA license

\n

Certification by NCCPA, ANCC or other nationally recognized certification organization
