Job Highlights- Department: Nursing, with responsibilities across various units within the hospital (2S, 3S, 4N, TCU, with orientation to NICU and ED, and finally to PICU)
- Experience Required: Minimum of one year as a licensed RN*
- Schedule: Full-Time, Variable Shifts, 36 Hours/Week
- Shift Differentials: Available for night and weekend shifts

This role involves delivering direct nursing care in alignment with the established policies, procedures, and protocols of our organization.
Key Responsibilities- Implement medical-surgical nursing standards to enhance the quality of care and life for patients, families, and significant others by systematically assessing the effectiveness of nursing practices.
- Build effective relationships and advocate for patients and their families to create personalized care plans tailored to individual needs.
- Utilize the nursing process to formulate and execute care plans, gather assessment data, establish nursing diagnoses, identify expected outcomes, and evaluate patient results.
- Develop assessment and management strategies that consider the physical, functional, cultural, social, economic, developmental, spiritual, vocational, and leisure aspects of health responses.
- Demonstrate understanding of how actual or potential illnesses affect each patient's overall status.
- Exhibit leadership by coordinating with patients, families, communities, and the interprofessional team to assess needs, set goals, plan interventions, provide care, and evaluate outcomes.
- Engage in effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure collaborative decision-making that is culturally sensitive, ethical, and compassionate.
- Educate patients and families on health promotion, maintenance, and comfort measures.
- Contribute to a positive work environment by mentoring nursing colleagues and students.
- Apply evidence-based practices and scientific knowledge in medical-surgical nursing to ensure care meets age-specific and clinical needs as outlined in the department's Scope of Service.
- Maintain a state of alertness and safety while performing duties.
- May conduct point-of-care testing in accordance with established policies.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
- Education: Graduate from an accredited nursing program or equivalent educational background for licensing.
- Experience: At least one year of experience as a registered nurse.
- Regularly communicate verbally to share information.
- Frequent standing and walking are required.
- Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling of objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
- Regular sitting, reaching, and data entry on a keyboard.
- Frequent visual acuity for near and far distances, including color differentiation.
- Regularly use smell to identify odors.
- Frequently use hearing to receive oral communication and detect alarms or machinery issues.
- Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling of objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
- Occasional patient lifting/moving.
- Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, gripping, and repetitive movements of the legs and arms.
- Rarely involves crawling or running.
