Occupational Therapist School Setting in Loves Park, IL
Job Description
Step into a vital role supporting early learners through occupational therapy services in a collaborative school environment. This contract opportunity is ideal for professionals passionate about working with pre-k students to help them achieve their growth and development milestones.
Your schedule will be three days per week—Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday—for a total of 22.5 hours. You will provide direct OT support to a caseload of 20-30 pre-kindergarten students in a supportive and dynamic educational setting. Work closely with an interdisciplinary team focused on meeting student needs and ensuring positive outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapist license (OT) in the state
- Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric setting preferred
- Proficiency with conducting special education evaluations
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, particularly in team settings
- Experience with IEP writing and collaboration
- Commitment to evidence-based practice and ongoing professional growth
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough OT assessments and evaluations for pre-k students
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, contributing OT insights to support IEP development
- Develop, write, and maintain Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with special education teachers, speech-language pathologists, and other professionals
- Provide direct interventions and therapy customized to each child's unique needs
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports according to school and district requirements
