Job Description
Step into a pivotal role supporting high school students as a Special Education Teacher working in a resource room setting. This full-time contract opportunity near Dearborn, MI begins on September 8, 2026. If you’re available to start before August 27, you’ll also have the chance to participate in professional development sessions. You’ll work with a caseload of approximately 14–20 students, either in 9th grade or across 10th–12th grades, helping each learner reach their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Qualifications:
- Previous special education experience is preferred
- Michigan Special Education Certification is highly desired
- Ability to foster academic growth and provide behavior intervention
- Skilled in delivering both social-emotional and academic support
- Confident in working collaboratively with students, staff, and families
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction in resource room settings
- Implement effective academic and behavioral interventions
- Support students’ emotional regulation and social skills development
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
- Communicate proactively with teaching staff and parents regarding student needs and successes
- Encourage a positive, inclusive learning environment
