Work predominantly with elementary students while also supporting some middle school learners, all within a collaborative and onsite-only setting near Des Plaines, IL.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid LBS1 Professional Educator License (PEL) required
  • Recent experience working as a Special Education Teacher in school settings
  • Comfort with both elementary and middle school caseloads
  • Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and compliance
  • Ability to adapt teaching approaches to meet diverse learning needs
  • Effective communicator with students, staff, and families
  • Collaborative, flexible, and committed to inclusive education

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction to students with various learning needs in accordance with IEP goals
  • Create a supportive, engaging classroom environment that fosters growth and confidence
  • Monitor and track student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and communicate openly with families about student development
  • Comply with all state and federal regulations related to special education
  • Contribute to a positive and professional culture within the school community
