Job Description

Work predominantly with elementary students while also supporting some middle school learners, all within a collaborative and onsite-only setting near Des Plaines, IL.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid LBS1 Professional Educator License (PEL) required
- Recent experience working as a Special Education Teacher in school settings
- Comfort with both elementary and middle school caseloads
- Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and compliance
- Ability to adapt teaching approaches to meet diverse learning needs
- Effective communicator with students, staff, and families
- Collaborative, flexible, and committed to inclusive education
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to students with various learning needs in accordance with IEP goals
- Create a supportive, engaging classroom environment that fosters growth and confidence
- Monitor and track student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and communicate openly with families about student development
- Comply with all state and federal regulations related to special education
- Contribute to a positive and professional culture within the school community
