Job Description
Step into a dynamic contract opportunity as a school psychologist in the New Orleans area, supporting students’ academic and emotional well-being. This full-time role (35 hours per week, Monday through Friday) starts as soon as possible and continues through late May 2027. You’ll spend your school days collaborating with educators, engaging with students across multiple campuses, and serving diverse age groups—with specific caseloads and school assignments to be determined.
Qualifications & Experience Sought:
- Valid Louisiana Department of Education (DOE) School Psychologist Certification (required)
- Prior experience working as a school psychologist in a school setting is strongly preferred
- Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs) and comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations is advantageous
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to pass district-mandated drug screening and fingerprint background checks, as well as additional agency credentialing
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and create action plans to support student learning and social/emotional needs
- Work closely with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to implement evidence-based interventions
- Maintain accurate and compliant documentation relating to evaluations and services
- Participate in school meetings and contribute to IEP development
- Provide crisis intervention support as needed, aligning with district goals and school policies
