\nGeneral Summary:
\nThe APRN or PA-C, under the supervision of the Physician(s), who acts as the collaborative practitioner, is responsible for:
\nPerforms physical examinations and medical management of palliative care patients including new consultations, admissions, follow up and discharging of patients per hospital protocol
\nPrimary hospital covered is the East Orlando campus but could cover our other Central Florida campuses on an occasional basis.
\nProvide symptom management for patients including pain, constipation, nausea, vomiting, dyspnea, delirium, anxiety and depression
\nOrders and interprets appropriate diagnostic tests, such as routine laboratory, X-ray, etc.
\nMonitors the patients course of treatment and makes appropriate referral to either a physician or specialist, as needed
\nCollaborates with physician and social workers as necessary to provide consistent care to patients and support to staff
\nDisplays a caring and professional attitude at all time as well as maintaining personal and professional growth

\nRequired Education/Experience:
\nMasters degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant studies
\nExperience in Palliative care, ICU hospitalist, or oncology
\nRequired Licensure, Certification, and Registration:
\nCurrent, valid Florida APRN or PA license
\nANCC, AANP (or equivalent) or NCCPA Certification
\nCurrent BLS and ACLS required
\nCurrent, valid DEA license

AdventHealth East Orlando is a 295-bed full service community hospital. We are proud to serve approximately 180,000 patients annually, which include more than 16,500 inpatients and 79,330 outpatients at AdventHealth East Orlando. In addition, our emergency visits totaled over 130,000 in 2018.
