Position Overview

Our organization is on the lookout for a Division Director for the Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Division within the Department of Pediatrics. The ideal candidate will be a physician-scientist with a proven track record in research, particularly in patient-centered, translational, or fundamental science studies. This role requires exceptional mentoring, clinical, and teaching abilities, along with sufficient administrative experience to effectively lead the division. The selected Division Director will benefit from substantial development funding and will be offered an endowed chair position.

About the Division

The Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Division is recognized as the largest and most comprehensive center for childhood cancer and blood disorders in the regions of Western Pennsylvania, Eastern Ohio, and Northern West Virginia. Currently, the division comprises 21 faculty members and 10 Advanced Practice Providers dedicated to delivering compassionate, cutting-edge care to children facing cancer and hematologic conditions. Our team is engaged in a wide array of research interests, from basic studies aimed at understanding cancer mechanisms to impactful translational research and NIH-funded clinical trials. Additionally, the division hosts an exceptional fellowship program designed to cultivate the next generation of leaders in pediatric hematology and oncology.

Department Overview

The Department of Pediatrics consists of 20 divisions, six centers, and two institutes, boasting over 350 faculty members. The department secures approximately $60 million annually in research funding from the NIH and various federal and non-federal sources.
