Step into a dynamic role supporting students in need of positive behavioral interventions across multiple school sites. This contract opportunity is ideal for experienced professionals ready to make a substantial impact during the 2025-2026 school year.

As a Behavior Intervention Specialist (BIS), you’ll collaborate with additional BIS staff and a Special Education Administrator to create and implement effective, data-driven behavior support strategies. Your expertise in behavior analysis or special education will be crucial to help foster supportive and inclusive learning environments.

Key Qualifications:

  • BCBA certification or a Tier 3 or 4 Special Education teaching license required
  • Note: Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) do not qualify for this position
  • Strong background in implementing positive behavior interventions and supports
  • Experience conducting functional behavior assessments and writing individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Ability to consult and train staff on behavioral recommendations and interventions
  • Calm, adaptable, and effective in crisis management situations

Core Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with education teams to provide behavioral consultation, programming, and staff training
  • Conduct assessments and monitor progress to inform individualized support plans
  • Implement and oversee positive behavioral interventions and supports district-wide
  • Support the safety and well-being of all students, utilizing de-escalation techniques and, if necessary, restrictive procedures
  • Maintain accurate documentation, ensuring compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines
  • Serve 3-4 school locations, with site assignments determined based on district needs

This is a full-time, onsite role, typically working Monday through Friday, 8:30 am – 4:10 pm, with a training week beginning August 25, 2026, and student start date on September 8, 2026. The assignment concludes on June 10, 2027.
