Job Description
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist in Charge experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This position is for a Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) role at a healthcare facility located in Pahokee, FL. The opportunity requires a dedicated professional to lead pharmacy operations on a contract basis, starting August 31 and continuing until a permanent candidate is hired. The current Director of Pharmacy’s last day is September 4.
Qualifications / Desired Experience:
- Licensed Florida Pharmacist and Consultant
- Minimum 3 years of pharmacy management experience
- Inpatient pharmacy expertise
- IV preparation knowledge and familiarity with The Joint Commission (TJC) standards
- Experience with CPSI order entry system and Omnicell automation is preferred; training available
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30/5:00 PM
- No weekend coverage required
Responsibilities:
- Provide pharmacy leadership with a focus on regulatory compliance and quality patient care
- Prepare and maintain readiness for TJC accreditation
- Manage pharmacy operations including sterile compounding supervision (primarily completed by pharmacy technicians)
- Oversee pharmacy staff consisting of 3 technicians, 1 full-time pharmacist, and 4 PRN pharmacists
- Collaborate with medical staff using Collaborative Practice Agreements (CPA) within CPSI
- Handle limited staffing challenges while maintaining productivity and compliance
Additional Information:
- The site specialties include Acute Care ICU, outpatient infusion, surgery, and medical-surgical services
- This facility is currently within its TJC accreditation window and has not had recent annual Board of Pharmacy inspections
