Description

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

\n
• Conducts safe and timely setup of manual lathe equipment.
\n
• Makes machine/tooling adjustments and changes to bring non-conforming out-put into specifications.
\n
• Informs the Group Leader/Supervisor of any operating or material condition that would interfere with quality/quantity production.
\n
• Perform routine operator maintenance and operational checks on all tools and equipment utilized, to include; tool sharpening, machine oiling, fluid level/air pressure checks, safety switch functioning etc.
\n
• Perform dimensional inspections to ensure quality products are produced including 1st Article Inspection.
\n
• Conducts tool setup.
\n
• Changes perishable tooling that is worn or damaged.
\n
• Ensures timely flow of parts through the machine shop by following set procedures. Makes suggestions for alternate responsibilities when application allows additional internal time.
\n
• Meets cycle time rates established for specific part numbers.
\n
• Reads and interprets machine shop blueprints.
\n
• Segregates and periodically disposes of scrap material into approved collection containers.
\n
• Operates material handling equipment when moving materials into, around, or out of the department.
\n
• Accurately uses measurement tools such as micrometers, verniers, height gage, bore gage, and attribute style gages.
\n
• Follows all 5S practices and supports lean activities, as well as safety regulations policies and procedures.
\n
• \n

  Trains operators to run jobs.

\n

For This Role, You Will Need:

\n
• \n

  This role requires a minimum of 2 years of related experience operating a manual engine lathe

\n
• \n

  Typically requires a High School Diploma or equivalent

\n
• \n

  Ability to read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and/or verbal work instructions.

\n
• \n

  Ability to recognize, set up, and effectively uses general measuring instruments.

\n
• \n

  Ability to comprehend and utilize ISO manufacturing procedures.

\n
• \n

  Ability to perform basic computer operations and mathematical computation.

\n
• \n

  Ability to move or transfer products with overhead crane.

\n
• \n

  Flexibility regarding job assignments.

\n
• \n

  Ability to lift 30 pounds, if required.

\n
