IV Sterile Compounding Staff Pharmacist in High Springs, FL
Job Description
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A pharmacist role focused on sterile compounding is available in High Springs, FL, offering a contract-to-hire opportunity of 13+ weeks. This position integrates sterile compounding expertise with clinical pharmacy services and leadership responsibilities in a dynamic infusion pharmacy setting.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM
Responsibilities include:
- Interpreting, verifying, and processing physician medication orders
- Performing and overseeing sterile compounding in compliance with USP <797> and <800> guidelines
- Conducting final verification of compounded sterile preparations
- Reviewing medication profiles for safety, allergies, interactions, dosing, and compatibility
- Collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
- Supervising and mentoring pharmacy technicians and support staff
- Maintaining cleanroom conditions, aseptic technique, and environmental monitoring standards
- Participating in quality assurance, medication safety audits, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintaining compounding, batch, quality, and regulatory documentation
- Assisting with inventory management, controlled substances, and overall pharmacy operations
- Supporting development of pharmacy policies, procedures, and staff training
- Participating in staff meetings and professional conferences
Qualifications:
- Active Florida Pharmacist license in good standing
- Minimum of one year experience with hazardous and non-hazardous sterile compounding in compliance with USP <797>, USP <800>, DEA, OSHA, and Board of Pharmacy regulations
- Strong communication and leadership skills
