Job Description
Step into a meaningful role supporting students as a Special Education Teacher working with a unique homebound caseload. This contract opportunity is based onsite and centers around providing one-on-one educational support to a 3rd-grade student with life skills needs. Your expertise will help bridge academic gaps and bring critical support to a student requiring tailored instruction.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification (state-appropriate)
- Previous experience working with elementary-aged students, particularly within life skills or self-contained settings
- Strong knowledge of differentiated instruction, IEP goal implementation, and behavior management strategies
- Ability to communicate effectively with families, service coordinators, and other school professionals
- Committed to maintaining compassionate, individualized attention in a homebound context
Position Responsibilities:
- Provide a total of 6 hours of direct services weekly (4 instructional, 2 compensatory), adapting to both academic and behavioral needs
- Develop and deliver lesson plans in alignment with IEP goals and district curriculum
- Maintain ongoing documentation of student progress and support compliance with all district and legal guidelines
- Collaborate with caregivers and school staff to ensure continuity of services and smooth transitions between service providers
- Uphold confidentiality, professionalism, and dedication to student well-being at all times
This assignment begins as soon as possible and initially focuses on Extended School Year services, with the possibility to continue for the entire 2026-2027 school year. Hours are flexible and tailored to the needs of the student, promoting a supportive atmosphere where educators have the autonomy to provide high-quality, focused instruction.
