Job Description
Embark on a rewarding opportunity supporting elementary students for the 2026-2027 academic year as a full-time school-based occupational therapist. This contract role provides the chance to impact young learners within an encouraging educational environment located near Detroit, MI.
You’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, delivering targeted support to promote student participation, independence, and academic success. Your expertise in school, home health, and healthcare-based OT practice will be highly valued and utilized across a diverse caseload.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Current, valid Michigan OT license
- Background in delivering occupational therapy services within elementary or school-based settings
- Experience in home health or broader healthcare OT is beneficial
- Strong communication and organization skills
- Commitment to collaborative, student-centered care
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to identify student needs within the educational context
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans in line with IEP goals
- Work closely with teachers, support staff, and families
- Document student progress and maintain compliance with state/federal guidelines
- Provide consultative support for classroom strategies that foster student independence
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive school culture
