Staff Pharmacist - Eastpointe, MI
Job Description
We are seeking a licensed Staff Pharmacist for a full-time contract assignment at a closed-door long-term care pharmacy in Eastpointe, Michigan. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, patient-focused, and committed to providing safe, accurate, and compliant pharmaceutical care while collaborating with an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Responsibilities
Verify medication orders and perform final product verification in accordance with federal, state, and company regulations.
Conduct drug utilization reviews (DUR) and evaluate clinical alerts, drug interactions, contraindications, and therapy concerns.
Communicate with prescribers to clarify medication orders and recommend appropriate therapy adjustments when needed.
Supervise and support pharmacy technicians while ensuring compliance with pharmacy policies and applicable regulations.
Collaborate with facility nurses, prescribers, and caregivers regarding medication orders, availability, and clinical questions.
Oversee the accuracy of long-term care medication packaging, including multi-dose punch cards and pouch packaging.
Assist with inventory management, medication procurement, and controlled substance documentation.
Maintain accurate pharmacy records and ensure compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements.
Foster a clean, organized, and compliant pharmacy environment.
Contribute to a positive, collaborative team culture focused on quality patient care.
Required
Active, unrestricted Pharmacist license in the State of Michigan.
Minimum of one (1) year of pharmacist experience.
Strong knowledge of pharmacy laws, medication safety, and clinical pharmacy practice.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Preferred
Previous experience in a closed-door or long-term care (LTC) pharmacy.
Experience using Frameworks pharmacy software.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with pharmacy staff and healthcare providers.

10:00 AM – 6:30 PM
