Qualifications & Requirements:
- Valid and active Connecticut Special Education Teacher License
- Any additional certifications required for Special Education instruction
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Special Education or related field
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
- Previous experience working with students with diverse learning needs
- Flexibility, adaptability, and a commitment to inclusivity
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction in accordance with students’ IEPs
- Collaborate closely with general education staff, specialists, and families
- Create a positive, engaging classroom climate that supports all learners
- Adapt and modify curriculum materials to address varying student strengths and challenges
- Monitor, track, and report on student progress and performance
- Maintain accurate documentation and uphold confidentiality standards
- Participate in IEP meetings, team planning sessions, and professional development activities
