Step into an impactful role supporting school communities near Birmingham, AL, as an onsite Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for the 2026-2027 academic year. Three contract positions are open across high school, middle school, and elementary environments, where you will collaborate with educators and families to foster communication growth in students.

Openings are available at these sites:

  • Full-time at Pinson Valley High School
  • Split week: McAdory Elementary (2 days) / McCalla Elementary (3 days)
  • Split week: Hueytown Middle School (3 days) / Lipscomb Elementary (2 days)

Each caseload is approximately 60 students. You’ll work 37.5 hours per week, ensuring consistency and the opportunity to make lasting connections in the school community.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Active Alabama SLP Certificate and SLP Educator Certificate (verify online)
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) required for some positions; Clinical Fellowship (CF) accepted for others
  • Experience in K-12 school settings, especially with diverse learning needs
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration abilities
  • Passion for promoting student success through targeted interventions

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct speech and language assessments and deliver individualized therapy
  • Collaborate with teachers, special education teams, and families
  • Develop and implement IEP goals in accordance with student needs
  • Maintain accurate records, progress notes, and compliance documentation
  • Participate in IEP and staff meetings as required
