Job Description
Step into a rewarding opportunity as a Special Education Teacher for the upcoming school year, supporting middle school students in grades 6 and 7. This contract role offers a fulfilling chance to foster growth and academic achievement in a vibrant educational setting near Orland Park, IL. From August 17, 2026, to June 4, 2027, you’ll engage with a small class of 14 students, building strong connections and individualized learning outcomes.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification.
- Experience working with middle school students, especially in special education settings.
- Background in delivering instructional math and English/Language Arts.
- Collaborative approach for team-teaching, especially in science and social studies.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver instructional math and ELA for 6th graders.
- Co-teach 7th grade science and social studies, collaborating closely with general education staff.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Foster a supportive, positive environment that encourages participation and success.
- Maintain effective communication with families and interdisciplinary team members.
- Monitor progress and adapt instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs.
