Our organization is in search of a committed Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) Physician to enhance our Obstetrics and Gynecology (OBGYN) team. The MFM team at our facility specializes in caring for pregnant individuals classified as moderate to high risk, offering support from pre-conception through the postpartum phase. Our physicians collaborate with colleagues across the organization, including advanced practice providers such as Certified Nurse Midwives and Nurse Practitioners, as well as generalist OB/GYN and Family Medicine practitioners.

Our organization serves the underserved communities of Denver, primarily focusing on patients who are government-insured and face medical and social complexities. With around 4,000 births each year, the Department provides comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic services. Approximately half of these patients receive care in our OBGYN clinics, staffed by OB/GYN physicians and advanced practice providers (CNMs and NPs), while the remainder are treated in community clinics by Family Medicine providers.

As a teaching affiliate of the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, we are deeply invested in training the next generation of healthcare professionals. Faculty members in the OB/GYN Department actively engage in educating residents and medical students, contributing both clinically and in educational settings. Additionally, our physicians hold academic appointments through the University of Colorado School of Medicine.

Key Responsibilities

• Attend and supervise High-Risk and Diabetic OB Clinics
• Interpret obstetric ultrasounds and provide consultations for any abnormal findings
• Collaborate with genetic counselors
• Perform specialized obstetric procedures, including amniocentesis and cervical cerclage
• Participate in multidisciplinary care conferences for complex cases
• Provide inpatient consultations for critically ill and high-risk obstetric patients
• Offer expert consultations for outpatient high-risk patients

Essential Functions

• Collect, document, and maintain patient information, including medical histories and examination results (20%)
• Care for and manage patients with high-risk pregnancies (60%)
• Perform specialized obstetrical procedures (5%)
• Engage in or support educational and research initiatives (10%)

Qualifications

• Education: Doctorate Degree from an accredited medical school is required.
• Post Graduate Diploma or Certificate Program in Obstetrics and Gynecology, certified by ABOG is required.
• Post Graduate Diploma or Certificate Program in Maternal Fetal Medicine, board-eligible or certified by ABOG is required.

Work Experience

• 1-3 years of directly related experience is preferred.

Licenses

• OBGYN-Obstetrics and Gynecology Certification from AAFP is required.
• MD-Physician certification from the State Medical Board is required.
• BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification from AHA is required.
