Position: Monitor Technician - Med Surg UnitJob Overview:

The Monitor Technician plays a vital role in observing and interpreting EKG waveforms. Effective communication with nursing staff and clinicians is essential, adhering to hospital protocols. This position is crucial for ensuring patient safety and achieving positive patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide continuous observation of cardiac monitors.
• Notify nursing staff of critical information regarding equipment, changes in cardiac rhythms, and patient updates.
• Compile and report patient data on a shift-by-shift basis.
• Maintain monitoring equipment and alert biomedical staff when repairs or replacements are necessary.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Education: No specific educational requirements.
• Experience: Previous experience in EKG or telemetry is preferred but not mandatory.
• Training: Completion of EKG/arrhythmia examination is required by the end of the orientation period.
• Familiarity with EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) is preferred but not essential.

Skills & Abilities:

• Strong problem-solving abilities and basic computer skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Professional engagement with staff and patients.
• Basic math proficiency.

Compensation:

Salary Range: Minimum: $16.76 | Maximum: $24.65
