Preferred Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification (State-specific or reciprocal eligibility)
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or related field
- Effective classroom management and communication skills
- Experience with IEP development, modification, and implementation
- Ability to collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff
- Adaptability and creativity in developing instructional strategies
- Previous experience working in a K-12 school environment is a plus
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and differentiated instruction to meet the needs of students with exceptionalities
- Develop and review Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Maintain accurate records documenting students’ progress and achievements
- Collaborate with families, multidisciplinary team members, and administrators to promote inclusive practices
- Create a supportive learning environment where all students feel valued and empowered
- Implement effective classroom management and behavior intervention plans
- Participate in professional development activities to stay current with best practices
