Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support high school students in a resource room setting for the 2026–2027 school year. The teacher will provide individualized academic, social-emotional, and behavioral support while helping students build the skills necessary for success in the classroom and beyond.
Caseload & Grade Levels
9th Grade OR 10th–12th Grade
Approximately 14–20 students
Resource room setting
Key Responsibilities
Provide targeted academic support to students with diverse learning needs.
Develop and implement individualized instructional strategies based on student needs and IEP goals.
Provide social-emotional support and help students develop self-advocacy and independence skills.
Implement appropriate behavior interventions and positive behavior support strategies.
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation.
Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, families, and related service providers.
Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development and implementation of IEPs.
Maintain a supportive, structured, and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements
Previous Special Education experience preferred.
Michigan Special Education certification preferred.
Strong classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills.
Ability to support students with academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs.
