Position Overview

Our organization is in search of a committed Registered Nurse to join the Level 1 Trauma Center's Main Operating Room at the New Brunswick campus. This role involves delivering exceptional patient care in a surgical environment, collaborating closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals. We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive individual who excels in a dynamic setting and is focused on enhancing surgical outcomes for patients.

Qualifications
  • Required:
    • ASN or Nursing Diploma
    • At least one year of experience as an OR RN or a recent graduate of a perioperative 101 program
    • Excellent communication and organizational abilities
    • Strong computer proficiency
  • Preferred:
    • BSN or completion within five years of hire
    • CNOR certification
Certifications and Licenses
  • BLS and ACLS certification
  • Active Registered Nurse License in New Jersey
Scheduling Requirements
  • Night Shift, 40 hours per week, from 9:00 PM to 7:30 AM
  • Availability for weekends, holidays, and on-call duties as assigned
  • Full-Time position
Essential Functions

The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering nursing care within the healthcare system, adhering to the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards, while upholding ethical practices as outlined by the ANA code of ethics. Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring safety in practice and applying evidence-based principles.
  • Recognizing personal knowledge and experience levels, and taking initiative to enhance both personal and team knowledge.
  • Reporting safety concerns, including hazardous conditions and medical errors.
  • Understanding the patient population served.
  • Supervising and directing task delegation among team members while collaborating with other healthcare providers.
  • Setting and evaluating priorities through appropriate interventions aimed at measurable improvements.
  • Utilizing the nursing process to integrate all aspects of care and tailoring the care plan to meet individual patient needs.
