Medical Assistants – Multiple Long Island Locations

Phaxis is hiring Medical Assistants for opportunities throughout Suffolk County!

Locations: Smithtown, Stony Brook, Lake Grove, Commack, and additional locations available
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Pay: $20.28–$25.34/hour

Responsibilities:

• Escort patients to exam rooms and document vitals, medications, and chief complaints in the EMR
• Perform routine screenings including height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, and temperature
• Assist providers with examinations and procedures
• Prepare exam rooms, equipment, and supplies
• Collect and process laboratory specimens and perform routine testing as needed
• Enter proposed orders into the EMR for provider approval
• Obtain previous test results and medical records from outside facilities
• Educate patients regarding treatments, medications, and provider instructions
• Clean and sterilize instruments and properly dispose of medical supplies
• Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked exam rooms
• Answer phones, schedule appointments, and manage patient messages
• Follow established protocols for patient flow and visit completion
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA and OSHA requirements

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program
