The CDL-A Driver is tasked with operating a tractor-trailer or straight truck for local, interstate, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and drop-and-drive routes. This role involves delivering and unloading food and related products safely and punctually, adhering to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. The driver will engage professionally with customers, vendors, and colleagues, ensuring timely and accurate responses to inquiries. Teamwork within the department and organization is essential, and all assigned duties should be performed to best support the organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• High School Diploma/GED or
• Equivalent Experience
Work Experience:
• 6 Months to 1 Year of commercial driving experience
• Experience in the foodservice distribution sector
• Familiarity with onboard computer and electronic log systems (e.g., PeopleNet)
• Experience with handheld point-of-delivery scanning systems (e.g., POD)
• Background in customer service-related roles

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct all necessary safety checks (e.g., pre/post trip) including inspections of the tractor/truck and trailer in compliance with DOT regulations; ensure vehicles meet company safety standards and take appropriate actions as necessary. Report any safety concerns or required repairs.
- Adhere to all DOT regulations and company driving safety policies. Promptly report any safety hazards encountered.
- Inspect trailers to confirm freight is loaded and secured correctly. Perform item counts and verify customer invoices for loaded products. Accurately complete all required paperwork related to freight.
- Ensure that the tractor, trailer, and freight are securely locked at all times. Handle damaged goods and customer returns appropriately, completing necessary paperwork at the end of the shift. Remove all equipment and trash from trailers as needed.
- Maintain daily records and comply with hours of service regulations, following DOT, state, and company policies.
- Uphold safety standards and follow guidelines for proper freight handling throughout the delivery process.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
