Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) - Washington, NC

Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years Stepdown RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Stepdown care for a contract opportunity in a dynamic clinical setting. This position focuses on delivering high-quality care to patients transitioning from critical care, supporting both their physical and emotional recovery.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Demonstrated experience in stepdown or progressive care unit settings
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and patient monitoring skills
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Excellent communication and team collaboration abilities
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and respond swiftly to changes in patient status

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for stepdown patients, including assessment, medication administration, monitoring, and documentation
• Collaborate closely with healthcare team members, including physicians and ancillary staff, to create and implement patient-specific care plans
• Perform frequent patient evaluations and report any changes in condition or complications
• Educate patients and families regarding care plans, rehabilitation, and recovery post-critical care
• Ensure a safe, supportive environment while strictly adhering to facility policies, procedures, and infection prevention protocols
• Participate in hand-offs, shift reports, and contribute to continuous improvement in patient care delivery
