Job Description
Embark on a rewarding contract position serving young learners as an Occupational Therapist in a school-based setting near Staten Island, NY. Enjoy a structured full-time schedule from 8:30AM to 3:30PM, working closely with a dedicated PreK caseload of children ages 3 to 5 years old. Your expertise will positively impact early development, helping students build essential motor and adaptive skills.
Desired Qualifications & Experience:
- Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist
- Experience in a school environment preferred
- Strong knowledge of early childhood development
- Ability to collaborate with teachers, families, and support staff
- Passion for fostering independence and participation in young children
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide occupational therapy services to PreK students ages 3-5, based on IEP goals
- Develop and implement individualized intervention plans
- Assess student needs and maintain thorough records of progress
- Work directly within classroom settings and one-on-one as needed
- Educate families and staff on strategies to support student growth
- Attend team meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary planning
